This time we would like to introduce “Pizza Cafe*Tokotoko” located in Kyoto City.
Pizza is one of the most popular gourmet foods in the suburbs. This restaurant combines pizza and a café. I had been curious about this restaurant every time I passed by it, so I finally went to visit.
Outline of the store
The store is located in Keihokucho, Kyoto City.
This store is located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City. The Ukyo-ku is a very large ward, with Kameoka City next door, and this restaurant is located in “Keihoku-cho,” a town surrounded by mountains.
The oven that protrudes from the front of the restaurant is used not only for pizzas, but also for making grilled vegetables and the like, so the food is sure to be a hit.
Access to the restaurant
- Business hours: 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays
- Parking: Available
- Address: 14 Shimosato, Gohonmatsu-cho, Keihoku, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto 601-0252
When approaching from the north, the restaurant is located at the end of a curve, so if you are not careful, you may go too far.
Menu and Taste
Here is the menu. The main dish is pizza. Starting with a simple Margherita, there is also a dessert menu that will leave you wondering what the finished product will be, such as an apple and ice cream pizza.
The lunch menu includes a Margherita or soup curry set that comes with a salad and drink.
Pizzas are made in an oven and baked to order, so there is no reason why they can’t be delicious, but the soup curry is quite spicy, which makes it even more appealing.
Although the roux is quite spicy as warned, it is just the right amount when eaten with the sweet vegetables, which are grilled to a crispy, slightly charred surface, which is the owner’s specialty. After eating the dish, I realized that there was no meat or fish in it, but it was a very satisfying dish in terms of volume.
Salad and drink
Salad is a common accompaniment to lunch.
I saw some reviewers mention the sourness of the dressing, but personally I found it just right.
Iced coffee, can be ordered before or after the meal. It’s just an ordinary coffee, but it seems to be a place for locals to relax, and after eating pizza, there were a group of girls chatting over a drink here and there.
That’s all for this time.
If anything, I think the soup curry at this restaurant will be a repeat menu item, and although it was spicy, the menu had a mysterious charm that made me want to eat more.
The restaurant also has a warm lodge-style atmosphere that makes it easy to relax, and it is just the right place to stop by after a drive.
